Healing Ways Philosophy

Healing.
There are estimates that 70% of modern illness is connected to stress. Trauma and chronic stress can affect us on many levels: physiologically, biologically, and emotionally. To ease the cycles of stress on the system we need to support the nervous system and encourage healthy energy flow and chi.
Feeling unwell can affect us in many ways, including relationships, quality of life, joy, creativity and connection. That’s why taking care from the inside is so important.
Being well is a natural thing, but also requires effort too of looking after the body, combined with the mind to restore and replenish your energy, to keep inner balance in a stressful world.
To Heal also means to make whole - that is to accept and nourish all the parts of ourselves, come what may. Life will always throw different challenges are way in a journey of Life, which is why we need tools to take care of ourselves on our journey and stay connected to the things that support us, help us grow and resonates with our true nature.
“Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn’t you—all of the expectations, all of the beliefs—and becoming who you are.” - Rachel Naomi Remen
Flowing.
We are made from the elements and we flow with chi/ energy/ life force, this flow animates us and ripples out through the expression of form and mind.
This understanding is fundamental to Chinese medicine and other healing modalities. We can observe patterns in nature and how everything in nature is interrelated. Health can be considered as a dynamic relationship between a human being, their environment, their bodies and their feelings. In order to be well there needs to be flow and balance between these aspects.
The combined effects of lifestyle, dietary, work, environmental and internal physical and emotional factors on our health shows up in different ways for each person. Healing Ways treatments offers a positive input to help the dynamics of chi in the body to encourage balance, vitality and flow of Qi.
Healing Ways respects the wisdom of the body, the spirit, nature, emotions and mind in the mix of who we are. Optimum flow in the meridian and energy systems is essential to our greater health and well-being. Blockages in these circuits can lead to pain and dis-ease in the body and disturbances in the emotions. Healing Ways understands that wherever we are on the journey, it is possible to find strength and to move in a direction of healing towards natural balance and flow, which is unique to each individual.
“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature-the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.” - Rachel Carson
Resilience.
We have tools we can use to help ourselves and our communities to respond to the conditions of life that test us.
Healing Ways is committed to the promotion of wellbeing as a central component of remembering and becoming who you are. Together we create wise cultures that follow the intelligence of nature. To take care of yourself in a challenging world, is a potent act of resilience.
When we heal, our hearts are able to relate to the world around us differently, we know how to follow our instinct and we can see each other with more tolerance and empathy. When our nervous systems are regulated, we can feel safer and act from that ground. In a world with so many challenges to respond to, supporting inner peace and health is part of the solution to the needs of our times.
“Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.” - Khalil Gibran
